With a waterfront perch in the serene lake village of Laglio, this charming villa was once home to an Italian queen! Today, it is well-known for hosting intimate events where up to 12 guests can stay on-site together, grand weddings where guests arrive via the private boat dock and luxury travel for honeymoons, bachelor or bachelorette weekends, leisure vacations and beyond. We especially love its peachy, sun-kissed patina accented by pale blue shutters and terra cotta trim... well, that and the prime lake village views considering it's situated on one of the most narrow sections of the lake! Read on to discover why Villa Regina Teodolinda might be the perfect fit for your destination celebration in Northern Italy.

Just minutes from the popular lake village of Como, this 18th c villa prides itself on a boutique experience that you typically won't find at larger properties with an abundance of rooms... we'll call it a luxury b&b approach. With 6 suites, Villa Regina Teodolinda can comfortably sleep 12 guests across the individually-decorated rooms with almost Provencal-style furnishings spanning the 2nd and 3rd floors.
Aside from the elegant pastel interiors, the courtyard in front of the villa becomes a truly magical escape in the evenings when the fairy lights peppered throughout the trees begin twinkling. Naturally, this is the most popular spot to host the wedding dinner, though both indoor + canopied outdoor rain backup spaces are offered as well.
Steps down from the courtyard, you'll find two terraced gardens flanking a private boat dock with the signature candy-striped mooring poles standing at attention all year round. On the left, a lakeside swimming pool glistens between sun loungers and canvas umbrellas, while a greenery-covered pergola sits opposite for casual al fresco dining outside of the wedding events.
One of the biggest perks of this property is its ability to legally host civil unions, in addition to symbolic ceremonies - a true rarity in Italy! Couples who prefer to host their ceremony off-site can of course still do so, but it's wonderful to have the option to keep everything in the same place considering the logistical challenges of transportation throughout the different villages of Lake Como.
The villa's cozy and private nature make it well-suited for intimate to mid-sized guest counts (80-100 guests) during the early summer and early fall months. Couples who are interested in getting married at Villa Regina Teodolinda should keep in mind that a 2-night minimum stay is required and the venue does require exclusive use for catering (Sunlake Catering) and entertainment (Blunotte Eventi).
We couldn't adore this picture perfect lakeside wedding venue more, so get in touch today to learn more about hosting your wedding at the darling Villa Regina Teodolinda!
Just under a 30 minute drive from Milan's Malpensa airport, Villa Regina Teodolinda is located in Laglio, a village on the western shore of the south-western branch of Lake Como. While a rental car is advised and private parking is available on-site for overnight guests, you can additionally access Laglio via bus or ferry from Como as well. It is possible to get there from other popular Lake Como towns, such as Bellagio, Varenna and Tremezzo, however, boat transportation from these locations will take a bit longer and be more challenging to navigate.
