Mid-Century Modern Wedding Where Polish Meets Whimsy

We’re starting a new series! Couple Spotlights. That’s right – we’re giving a behind-the-scenes look at the mood boards which inform each couple’s ultimate Visual Design Proposal, and sharing a bit more about each of our fabulous brides and grooms to be.

If you’ve read a bit about us before now, then you probably have a solid understanding of our philosophy: That every wedding should be an authentic + unique expression of the couple themselves, that the thoughtfully curated designs should evoke an emotional response and that the experiences should surprise, delight and excite everyone.

We are constantly striving to get to know our couples on the deepest levels, and in doing so, we’re able to tailor a wedding aesthetic and experience that’s wholly their own. Ultimately, their celebration should be timeless and unforgettable so that when they look back 20 years from now, they will be able to remember and cherish every dear moment.

So today we’re sharing a little bit about our Chicago-based couple, Megan and Mike. We began the planning process with this sweet duo a little over 8 months ago, and in that time we’ve come to understand their passions, styles, personalities and ultimate vision for their destination wedding weekend in Charleston this fall. The beloved mid-century style Dewberry hotel will play host to their sophisticated shindig overflowing with magenta, peach, blush, mustard and cream hues – and our heads have been spinning with ideas over these past few months.

A few things you can expect to see include a juxtaposition of whimsy and polish, a perfect smattering of anemones and dyed blooms, open weave caning, matte vessels, cloud-dipped utensils and the prettiest café lighting strung across a brick walled courtyard. Not to mention a couple fun nods to the groom’s passion for golf!

All in all, the mid-century modern wedding mood will have guests ready to make like Lionel Richie and party all night long. And after a whole weekend of exploring Lowcountry together, walking along the Battery, relaxing at some of the finest spas on the East Coast and enjoying the famous fried chicken + oysters at Leon’s Oyster Shed, we’re confident this is gonna be an unforgettable finale to the multi-day celebration.

We cannot wait to help them celebrate so soon and share more with you post I-do’s!

Xx,

Haley
