It is simply impossible not to fall madly in love with the charm, grandeur and breathtaking estate that is Chateau du Grand Luce. And, reasonably so, there is no doubt why it is at top of our list for one of the best destination wedding venues in France.
Originally built in 1970 by architect Mathieu de Bayeux under the direction of Jacques Pineau de Viennay and Baron de Luce, the chateau has aged beautifully across the centuries. The team places the highest value in maintaining the splendor of the eighteenth century decor while still designing rooms and functionality that would inspire the most discerning twenty-first century traveler.
Without further ado, we have the honor of guiding you though what a wedding at Chateau du Grand Luce might look like...
Thank you to Molly Carr for partnering with us on this venue guide.
A neoclassical palace, surrounded by original medieval walls, sitting beautifully in the Northern region of the Loire Valley. Chateau du Grand Luce is most famous for it's Sancerre wine and gardens which were inspired by none other than those of Versailles.
A beautiful hotel and true hidden gem which can be hired exclusively for wedding and events, the chateau is breathtaking both inside and out. Over the years, the original stables have now been converted in a spectacular Ballroom, the original Laundry House now into a spa & fitness center and the former private chapel is now a bar that even Kelly Wearstler would admire.
One might argue that the grounds and estate are just as impressive as the main chateau and, for good reason. In fact, Chateau du Grand Luce operates on an elevated farm-to-table dining approach, sourcing seasonal ingredients from their organic potager gardens. The restaurant, lead by Chef Maxime Thomas, will create a modern, French and fresh menu to serve on your day.
The main chateau is home to 17 rooms & suites all exceptionally designed with archived patterns by Pierre Frey, Christian Lacroix and Jean-Paul Gaultier. When not in one's bedroom or roaming the grounds, guests can admire all of the art & tapestries which have been curated over the past 300 years reflecting 18th-century romanticism, 19th-century impressionism and 20th-century French abstract oils.
While staying at Chateau du Grand Luce, guests are spoiled for activities. Whether antique shopping, biking through the Berce forest or wandering through the local village to get a fresh croissant from the town bakery, there is so much to do and see.
If you are as in love with the idea of your wedding at Chateau du Grand Luce as we are, please do get in touch to see how we can further help you.
