Charleston Garden Wedding: Indigo Meets Nature Mood

We’re back with another Couple Spotlight, and today it’s all about our sweet Sara + Chris, hailing from San Diego and Philly. From the moment we met these cuties, their affection for one another was clear. With a down to earth nature that’s balanced with tenderness and loving understanding, S+C have had our hearts for nearly a year now as we’ve planned together. We can’t wait to give you a sneak peek at the inspiration behind their wedding design in the boards to follow…

Charleston garden wedding color palette inspiration with navy, dusty pink, sage green and gray

Sara has been dreaming up this color palette for her wedding since before she even met Chris! And we have to say, it’s pretty entrancing for us too. Dusty pink and sage green are met with tasteful bursts of indigo + navy throughout the design elements gracing the ceremony all the way to the reception. With the Mother of the Bride, Carla, being an artist herself, we knew it would be special to incorporate some of her hand-painted work into the day, so expect to see lots of unique bar panels showcasing the landscape of the wedding venue, Middleton Place, as well as art cards for the invitation suite and beyond!

Now, we’re suckers for a good meet-cute. And Sara and Chris have the sweetest love story of all! They were both stationed on the US Air Force base in Japan, she a dentist and he a pilot. Once they met, it was like kismet! Much of the design elements we’ll share once their wedding day arrives are rooted in their own beginnings. Japanese inspired accents play into the scents, the shapes, water features, the blooms… Even the seating chart is a nod to the culture that played such a significant role in their relationship!

We sought to balance those textures you’d stumble upon in nature with globally-influenced pieces to create an aesthetic that feels like you’re stepping into their own little world. One that reflects the spirit of both Charleston and Japan. Naturally, the result includes textures like twisty vines + foraged branches, cane weave, handmade cloth and stone amidst the more ethereal vibes from the wispy blooms + trailing silk ribbon.

Charleston garden wedding moodboard featuring intimate, handmade, organic, Mother Nature and party vibes

Overall, the mood of the day is a reflection of S+C’s lighthearted and happy-go-lucky relationship. It’s relaxed, yet elegant. Organic, yet structured. Intimate, yet inviting. And this Charleston garden wedding is gonna be one heck of a party!

We cannot wait to share the final result after their wedding day. Til then, cheers to Sara and Chris!

Xx,
Haley
