Crisp rosés, mountain views, country cafés, laidback moods... the Provence wine region is famed for its idyllic Mediterranean climate, rich clay + limestone soil and that je ne sais quoi every oenophile can really raise a toast to.
While every wine estate + domaine in Provence is a tour de force in its own right, and some will be more suitable for group tastings, vineyard hikes and winery tours than others, we're sharing a few of our go-to's in the lineup below!
La Coquillade's Aureto Vineyard, Domaine de Fontenille, Domaines Ott, Domaine de Saint-Ser, Château d'Esclans, Domaine de Terres Blanches, Chateau de Berne, Château Romanin, Chateau d'Estoublon, Château Sainte-Roseline, Domaine de la Vallongue, Maison Mirabeau, Chateau la Canorgue, Château Léoube, Le Domaine de Marie, Château La Coste, Peyrassol and Château Vignelaure

Is it even a celebration in the French countryside if you don't embrace your inner Julia Child? It's one thing to enjoy classic provençal fare from the comfort of a panoramic perch, but another entirely to shop for impossibly fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, jams, patés and the like in a bustling morning market (woven basket in hand of course), then whipping up a feast for the senses under the instruction of an archetypal chef (corkscrew mustachio and all).
While many cooking schools are lauded throughout the towns and villages of Provence, our favorite experiences are offered by La Mirande - a fixture of Avignon with the prettiest interiors of all time - and La Petite Maison in Cucuron - an off-the-beaten track gem run out of an inviting yellow house with blue shutters.

We can't imagine a more appropriate introduction to Provence than a visit to one of the bustling outdoor markets that take over each town at least once a week from 8am-noon.
Your guests will delight in the opportunity to wile away the hours perusing kaleidoscopic vegetables, soporific lavender, blousy sunflowers, olive oil and tapenade, woven baskets, straw hats, extraordinary antiques and so much more... all against backdrops like elegant stone edifices, plane tree lined boulevards and melancholic landscapes no less!
While we're never ones to discriminate against a good fromage, we always find ourselves returning to Gordes on Tuesdays, St. Remy on Wednesdays, Aix-en-Provence on Thursdays, Eygalieres or Bonnieux on Fridays, Apt on Saturdays and L'isle Sur La Sorgue on Sundays.

When in Saint-Tropez, an afternoon at Plage de Pampelonne is a must, and we'd venture to say that there's no better place to see and be seen than Cinquante Cinq. It's origin story involves Brigitte Bardot filming And God Created Woman, which quite frankly is enough to convince us that this chic private beach club has the street cred to back up its unwaning popularity.
With a Robinson Crusoe hut vibe, tables are scattered beneath bamboo canopies and topped with block printed linens in mixed blue hues this Riviera landmark is so well-known for. Tamarisk trees flood the deck in just the right places, while cozy sun loungers encourage you to sprawl out with a bottle of crisp rosé - that is until the tempo of the live music insists its time to dance on the tables... an inevitable end to every evening here.
Post up for the day and luxuriate under the Cote d'Azure sun

With breathtaking views of Cannes, which sits just opposite this private island, the chic allure of La Guérite is simply unmatched. As exclusive as the location feels, the ambiance is hardly stiff.
You come for the conviviality, the shared plates, the overflowing bottles of rosé... not to mention the busker-style band that roams freely here, mere seconds away from being discovered by some big wig that can't help but dance like no one's watching when they break out with Volare. Stranger things have happened at this decidedly rustic beach hangout!
Trust us when we say that the 6 month wait list for a table at this portal to the past is worth all the blood, sweat and tears it might take to get here - even for the spicy lobster pasta alone!

An unpretentious summer playground for sun-seeking regulars and soon-to-be converts, this Plage de Pampelonne bolthole is one of the finest in Saint-Tropez. With a post-pandemic interior design revival from the fabulous, expect to be wooed by tangerine and white striped cushions, fringed straw pendant lights and a happy jumble of director's chairs and rattan seats overlooking the balmy beach ahead.
The mood is invariably festive - live concerts and DJ sets on the reg, but uptempo photo exhibitions and even sand golf events as well! Of course, as much of a draw as the decibal levels and yacht-watching position (ideal) may be, the food is rip-roaringly delicious as well. Innovative dishes like custard-laced tarte tropézienne dot the menu alongside Riviera classics like fried octopus and fish tartare. Plenty of summer salads and wood-fired meats to go around for good measure too.

Tucked away in a quiet corner of the 16th, just steps away from the upper-crust shops of the Champs-Élysées, this Neoclassical palace boasts a Michelin-starred restaurant helmed by Julien Dumas, a subterranean Guerlain spa reminiscent of Greco-Roman thermal baths and an English-style library bar with rich wood paneling a soaring coffered ceiling and double-height bookshelves. Our hearts simply leapt out of our chests when we first glimpsed the richly layered interiors courtesy of architecture-rooted designer Laura Gonzalez. Every room is this 51-room boutique hotel imparts a unique, playful and ultimately maximalist vibe to the grandeur of the building’s stately bones through artfully blended styles + textures, Versailles parquets, Art Deco touches, nature-inspired wallpapers, ornate chinoiseries and moldings, plush fabrics and custom-designed carpets... You’ve probably seen the Belle Epoque era dining room flood all of your social feeds since 2018 when consummate designer Martin Brudnizki reinvigorated the space with its now signature sage, burgundy, chestnut and white palette. Mature and sophisticated to the nth degree, the room transports you to “old Paris” within mere milliseconds. While you can always come for a cocktail before jet setting to your next destination, the flash mob service of lip-licking fare from celebrity chef Cyril Lignac is sure to challenge your original plans mid-drink. The dishes are elegant, refined and modern in a way that appeals to a younger generation. You’ll find the siren calls of Mussels Gratin, Avocado-Frosted Crab and Satay Chicken Breast beckoning from the menu’s chicken scratch, and we suggest surrendering to all three... Continue Reading

Well-known by locals, but off-the-beaten-path for visitors, this lovely park may just hold the title for Europe’s most romantic. Starring undulating profiles of grassy lawns and winding paths reminiscent of English gardens, the park was constructed atop massive quarries of gypsum and limestone. Visitors will also notice inspiration taken from Italian gardens, from the fanciful grotto with a cascading waterfall to the bubbling fountains dotted throughout. An artificial lake encourages a wide variety of birds to hangout alongside the traditional patrons, who are often found in a trance as they admire the Temple de la Sibylle (a miniature version of the ancient Roman Temple of Vesta in Tivoli). Long story short, this oft-overlooked retreat is a wonderful excuse to break from the hustle + bustle of the innermost arrondissements... Continue Reading
