THE LOOK
With exteriors the shade of almond biscotti and interiors that make you wonder "Is this where Pottery Barn gets its inspiration from?", Borgo Santo Pietro is replete with good design sense and effortless flow. You'll find exposed beams crafted from local chestnut trees and travertine stone floors throughout the individually styled rooms. Does a better canvas exist for polished rustic furniture and found piece accents sourced from Europe, Asia and beyond? We think not. The rooms feel pastoral without leaning pastiche, and ___. If you're lucky enough to call one of the garden suites or pool houses your home for the duration of your wedding weekend, your private sprawling gardens or Mediterranean-style pool beckons spontaneous social calls on the off-days and romantic picnics or couple's massages on the others. A lovely setting indeed for your parents and other VIPs!
Beyond the guest rooms, the communal spaces are a picture of elegance, tranquility and exploration. There's almost a sense of Italian safari in the Trattoria Sull'Albero restaurant that wraps around an oak tree, offering panoramic views of the sun-kissed valley below - though we feel it too in the scattered pairs of rattan lounge chairs from which vantage point you can have your silver-platter perched negroni sbagliato ushered to you by a liveried server with the attentiveness of the Royal Guard. The comparisons end here, for as a whole, the estate is enchantingly lush with herb and vegetable gardens, a grove of olive trees, soaring cypresses, scented lemons, sprawling labyrinths of lavender, jasmine, hydrangeas and roses... lovers of nature will certainly find respite here.

THE EVENT SPACES
Grand without feeling over-the-top, manicured without feeling stuffy, open without feeling rambling, Borgo Santo Pietro possesses an acute sense of purpose: celebrating comfort, beauty and meaningful moments at every level. The mission extends to the events they host, be it a more intimate gathering of 15 or a booming guest list of up to 100.
As the Borgo is primarily a luxury boutique hotel, you won't find them cranking out weddings every weekend - and that's what we love about them. The spaces are designed for experiences that immerse all the senses. The formal gardens evoke a dreamlike state from the aromatic beds of jasmine and roses to the pillowy blades of grass beneath your feet, while the Roman style portico extending into the lemon tree garden offers an equally blissful scene with its tromp l'oeil murals, round iron gazebo and bronze chandeliers dripping with crystals that clink softly in the wind. These spots are easily the most popular for ceremonies and receptions, though the beauty of a buyout is that the place is yours!
Flexibility truly is the gift that keeps on giving. So if you favor the treehouse restaurant for your Welcome Party or the infinity pool area for post-dinner dancing (heck, even the dramatic cypress tree allée for your wedding dinner), being the master of this house means you have an incredible support system to bring your vision to fruition.
THE ROOMS
Modern meets Rococo in the guest rooms hallmarked by exposed stone walls, massive wooden beams, elaborate chandeliers, piped velvet armchairs, floral damask curtains, 17th c passementerie, marble basins and working stone fireplaces. Each room is individually styled, air-conditioned and generous with creature comforts like plasma TVs camouflaged behind paintings, fully loaded iPads with docking stations and sumptuous mattresses specially flown in from Denmark.
22 rooms + suites exist across the main villa and the expansive gardens. From the Deluxe Rooms with their bucolic frescoes to the immaculate Garden Suites featuring Moroccan daybeds on their private porticos, these handsome havens offer a sense of privacy, quietude and repose so often lacking from wedding venues that sleep anywhere from 40-50 guests.

THE FOOD & BEV
The Borgo's soil-to-plate approach is paramount to their sustainability efforts of living off the land - a mission accomplished through innovative menu design, ethical farming and organic production of all food on-site. On any given morning, you'll find locals extracting honey from the beeswax dutifully cultivated by a buzzier set, collecting fresh eggs from 150 chickens, milking 100 sheep to produce ricotta, pecorino, brie and ravaggiolo, squeezing olives to produce the finest olio d'oliva in the region or picking fruits, nuts, herbs and vegetables from the various fields, orchards and gardens throughout the estate.
The authentic, seasonal ingredients tell the story of the region, but the fare is far from regional. Sure, the trattoria leans more rustic with wood-fired pizzas and meat sauce pastas, but the Michelin star awarded restaurant colors outside the lines with regularly updated seasonal dishes like artichoke morello with borage and licorice, pesce solana, koji tagliolini with langoustine and elderflower and wood pigeon marinated in tobacco oil. You'll find traditional Sicilian grub mingling with contemporary Nordic cooking in this distinguished chef's table - a welcome trait if you're the type who's looking for collaboration, originality and zest in your wedding menus.
Further nurturing your mind, body and soul, Borgo Santo Pietro's vineyards span 25 acres of the estate, producing the finest glasses of Sangiovese, Chardonnay and Viognier our lips have ever tasted. Even so, the Borgo doesn't discriminate against other prestigious labels. Enter the cavernous wine cellar boasting some 1300 bottles of obscure rarities, where you'll stumble upon masterpiece after masterpiece. Plain and simple, it's a wine enthusiast's wonderland.

THE LOCATION
Situated between Siena and the Tyrennhean Sea, Borgo Santo Pietro is fairly off-the-beaten-track, but you'll never feel stranded. The five-star Borgo has all the trappings of a luxury resort sans stuffiness and branding. It's meant to feel like your home away from home, the familial energy carried over in the conversations you'll have with local gardeners about their favorite perennials and the bartenders who get to know your favorite flavors in order to tailor your drinks and recommend nice pairings.
Moments after you arrive, you feel a bit like you've stumbled upon the pot of gold in this countryside Utopia. With a world-class spa, tennis court, infinity pool, bocce court, gardens, orchards, dairy, farm, hiking trails and countless lounging perches both inside + out, you never need leave the property. Though depending on the structure of your event, you may want to provide some downtime for yourselves and your guests.
Fortunately, medieval villages like Chiusdino, Radicondoli, Mensano and Casole d'Elsa are only a stone's throw away, while you can reach Volterra, Massa Marittima and Colle Val d’Elsa in under an hour. You're in an exquisite position for exploring the vineyards of Chianti, and you can even reach the Tuscan coast within 45 minutes by car - did we mention the owners have a 136' yacht you can charter? Perhaps the most popular choice though is a pilgrimage to the well-trodden paths of neighboring San Galgano Abbey, which harbors the legendary sword in the stone. All in all, you're secluded through and through... but only when you choose to be.

THE BEST FIT FOR
Borgo Santo Pietro is a wonderful fit for couples who value a more relaxed, intimate celebration spanning 3-4 days, moments of down-time generously peppered throughout.
We'd recommend spreading the events out if you're hosting a weekend at this luxury Tuscan retreat. Kick things off with a casual Welcome Party in the treehouse restaurant with wood-fired pizzas and a roaming acoustic band for entertainment. Give your guests a break the next day to explore the region on their own while you spend time with your VIPs or plan a group activity that allows your guests to get to know one another better.
The Borgo offers dozens of engaging activities from cooking classes and flower arranging workshops to art lessons and guided meditations in the forest. The culinary demonstrations are impressive too - from cheesemaking demonstrations to wine tastings. Of course, that's just skimming the surface when you consider the possibilities for hot air balloon flights over the rolling plains, Vespa rides to the neighboring villages or an unforgettable trip on the Satori yacht.
If you wanted to host a rehearsal dinner that night for immediate family only, you could cozy up in the Grand Suite's private terrace while your other guests enjoy a film night beneath the vine-covered arches, lit by stars + fairy lights.
As for the wedding day, host your ceremony in the romantic roofless abbey less than 5 minutes away or choose a spot from 13 acres of gardens on-site to exchange vows. Cocktail Hour and Dinner can take place between the cypress trees, under the arcaded loggia, amidst the lemon trees or wherever else your heart desires!
Everyone can enjoy a sumptuous brunch together the following morning in the open plan Tuscan kitchen or at their leisure in one of the lounges setup throughout the grounds.
Borgo Santo Pietro is ideal for guest counts where everyone can stay on-site (52), though they allow guest counts of up to 120. It's perfect for couples who love nature + immersive experiences, value sustainability and are looking for a more relaxed reception suited to the setting.

The coast is within 50 minutes by car, while the nearest shops + restaurants are about 10 minutes away in the town of Monticiano. It's a great idea to pre-arrange transportation for your guests (the Borgo can assist you here) and/or encourage them to rent cars since the property is more remote.
